Waymon T. Saxon, Jr., CHESP

Mr. Saxon joined AF&S Products & Services as Vice President in 2007 after a very successful 37 year career with the Department of Veterans Affairs.  Prior to his retirement, he served as the Program Manager responsible for VISN 7’s Continuous Readiness Program from 2004 – 2006   He was the Director of the VISN 7 Business Office from 1999 – 2004 which was responsible Prosthetics, Accounting, Travel, and Contracting services for the states of Georgia, Alabama and South Carolina.

Prior to joining VISN 7, he served as the Associate Medical Center Director at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin, GA from 1996 – 1999.   Previous positions held included Associate Director Trainee at the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center, Los Angeles, CA and at the VA Desert Pacific Healthcare Network 22; and Chief of Environmental Management Service at the VAMC, Long Beach, CA; VAMC, Richmond, VA; VAMC, Philadelphia, PA; and VAMC, North Chicago, IL.  Mr. Saxon began his career as an Environmental Management Service Trainee at the VAMC, Augusta, GA.

Mr. Saxon received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Augusta State University in 1973 and a MBA from Pepperdine University in 1988.

Mr. Saxon is the past President of AHE (Association for the Healthcare Environment) of the American Hospital Association (AHA).  In 1992, he was the recipient of the Society’s highest award, the Phoenix Award.  He is a Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP), Distinguished Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (DHESP) and a Fellow Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (FHESP) with AHE.

He is married to the former Patricia Lee Stearns and they reside in Atlanta, GA.  They have one daughter - Katherine who attends Auburn University.
